Where your notes go

Centis keeps your notes on your phone. Here is exactly what is stored where, what leaves your phone and when, and how to delete it. The privacy policy has the full detail.

Where they're kept

In your phone's browser, on the phone you use Centis on: your notes, to-dos and reminders, the details you add about the person, and their photo if you choose one. There's no account and no copy on our servers. We can't read your notes, because they aren't anywhere we could look.

Who can see them

Anyone who can open Centis on that phone, as with your other apps. Nobody else. A family update or visit notes go only where you send them (a text, an email, a printer), and whoever you send them to can read them.

What leaves your phone, and when

Only when you use a feature that needs it, and only what that feature needs:

Each passes through our servers to OpenAI, which writes the result, and comes straight back to your phone. Our servers keep none of it. OpenAI doesn't use it to train its models, and may hold it for up to 30 days to check for abuse.

Reminders don't leave your phone: they go into your phone's calendar, and say only “Centis reminder” unless you choose otherwise in Settings.

What we keep

Counts of how Centis is used, so we can tell whether it helps and where it breaks: a random ID made on your phone, the name of an action (like “saved a note”) and the time. Never what you said, never the person's name, never your notes. Feedback you type, and a waitlist email if you join one, are encrypted before they're stored. Our hosting keeps short-lived technical logs of requests, including IP addresses.

How to delete them

Keeping them safe

Because your notes live in your phone's browser, the browser can clear them: Safari may clear a website's data after 7 days without use. Add Centis to your Home Screen, and save a copy from time to time. It takes one tap, and it's how you move your notes to a new phone.
